Results of the Second Round of Track 2: Creative projects of the ArtPower Belarus Program

The ArtPower Belarus program has completed the second stage of the competitive selection under Track 2 (Creative projects). Following the evaluation by 16 independent experts and the final decision of the selection committee, 23 projects were supported (13 in the MINI grant format and 10 in the MIDI grant format). A total of 132 applications were submitted (74 MINI and 58 MIDI). The total amount of requested funding reached approximately EUR 2.8 million, significantly exceeding the financial capacity available for this call.

Including the previous call of Track 2, 50 projects have already been supported within the current edition of the program. In addition, 8 projects under Track 1 (Organizational development) and 21 projects under Track 3 (Projects in special circumstances) are currently being implemented.

These activities cover 10 sectors of Belarusian culture: performing arts; film and television art; music and audio arts; new media and cultural promotion; visual arts and design; literature and publishing; heritage and traditional culture; education, outreach and cultural research; cultural event management; and communities and professional associations.

“We note a clear improvement in the quality of applications: they have become more professional, more logically structured, and better developed from a project management perspective. At the same time, we would like to highlight one issue: in a number of projects, risks, budget justifications, and communication strategies are still not described in sufficient depth, and cooperation between initiatives in Belarus and the diaspora often remains rather formal,” — experts of the second call of Track 2.
