The year 2025 became a period of intensive work for the Belarusian Council for Culture (as, in fact, all five years of the organisation’s existence), a time of strategic decisions and of strengthening our role as an expert, advocacy, and resource organisation for the Belarusian cultural sector.
Like the entire sector, BCC worked in difficult circumstances. At the same time, we consistently adhere to a clear understanding that culture is not about creativity only. It is an essential component of economic and political resilience, a factor in building solidarity, and a foundation for the future of Belarus.
In 2025, we prepared, approved, and publicly presented (there is even a video!) the Strategy of the Belarusian Council for Culture for 2025–2027. This document, together with the programmes it defines as central to our work, serves as the main reference point for the organisation’s activities for this period.
Therefore, we present the results of the year in line with the programmes identified by the Strategy as key priorities. There are three of them: Culture as a Priority, Integrity of the Cultural Space, and The Creator and Their Art as a Value. Throughout the year, we strengthened international advocacy work, supported artists and cultural initiatives, produced analytical and policy documents, and invested in the organisation’s institutional development and communication with audiences.
In the annual report, we have brought together all key results, figures, and examples of the work carried out.
