Belarusian Council for Culture is a non-governmental organization that unites cultural actors forming the sustainable infrastructure of the free Belarusian culture.
Initially established in October 2020 as the Belarusian Culture Solidarity Foundation, the institution evolved into the Belarusian Council for Culture (BCC) in early 2021.
The BCC activities now focus on the promotion of Belarusian culture (patronage of artists, performers, and art managers), development of new cultural projects, unification of the culture community, and promotion of Belarusian culture across the globe. The Council also focuses on the facilitation of the civic impact on culture formation and development.
The Council initiates and conducts multiple international campaigns with the support of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaja, the National Anti-crisis Management, the Coordination Council, and other non-governmental democratic organizations. Since its creation, the Council has been supported by the key figures of the Belarusian culture and diaspora. Leading artists and art activists are frequent participants in the BCC's media campaigns and events.
Over the past year, the Council has supported 82 creative projects, and over 500 cultural workers received financial aid.
Siarhei Budkin is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Belarusian Council of Culture.
Aleksandr Chahouski is the Chief Operations Officer.
The Belarusian Council of Culture has 26 members. Moreover, 15 experts constitute the Management Board. Many of them are distinguished Belarusian artists, producers, historians, art managers, and professors.
